Hexagon Metrology refreshes Optiv Classic line

This entry-level series of visual and multisensor measuring systems has been completely revised and now offers even more advantages.

Hexagon Metrology has upgraded its Optiv Classic product line. In future the models making up this series will be the Optiv Classic 321 GL (Granite Line), Optiv Classic 321 GL tp and the Optiv Classic 453.

The new Optiv Classic 321 GL and the Optiv Classic 321 GL tp are based on a stable granite design. The machine base is manufactured in natural hard stone, which gives these models an extremely stable mechanical construction and greatly enhances the accuracy of the system. Thanks to their robustness, both of the portable benchtop units are particularly suitable for providing quality assurance in a production environment. The difference between the two models lies in their sensor systems. The Optiv Classic 321 GL, which is equipped with a vision sensor, has the characteristics of a traditional measuring system. In addition to the vision sensor, the Optiv Classic 321 GL tp offers a tactile TESASTAR probe with a probe changer and therefore represents a first step in multisensor technology within the Optiv line.

The third in the group, Optiv Classic 453, has a greater measurement range of 400 x 500 x 300 mm and a higher table load. Parts weighing up to 60 kg can be measured using the Optiv Classic 453. The low-vibration aluminium construction comprises a fixed machine table and a mobile gantry with air bearings on all axes. Different vision sensors and tactile probes with probe changers allow this universal measuring machine to perform optical and tactile measurements during the inspection process.

All new Optiv Classic models work with PC-DMIS Vision metrology software. CAD data can be seamlessly integrated into the inspection process using PC-DMIS Vision. The measuring system is used in the automotive and aerospace industries, telecommunications, medical engineering, the plastics and electronics industries, microsystems technology, as well as in tool and mould-making.
